Kienviet.net – Vietnam Association of Architects promotes, together with the Order of Architects of Genoa (Italy) the concept proposal competition for redevelopment of the most representative area of Old Town in Hanoi.

Hội Kiến trúc sư Việt Nam kết hợp với Hội kiến trúc sư Genoa (Italia) phát động một cuộc thi tìm ý tưởng chỉnh trang và bảo tồn khu vực quảng trường Đông Kinh Nghĩa Thục, phố Hàng Đào và phụ cận – khu vực quan trọng của khu phố cổ Hà Nội.

The competition will be reserved for partnership by Italian architects and Vietnamese architects who have to work together.

Cuộc thi dành cho các kiến trúc sư người Ý và các kiến trúc sư Việt Nam cùng hợp tác nghiên cứu.

The competition aims to collect project proposals that provide answers in terms of environmental restoration, urban, architectural and traffic asset in accordance with the retail and craft activities, especially related to the design of public space.

Cuộc thi nhằm tìm kiếm các giải pháp hoàn thiện không gian kiến trúc, đô thị, môi trường và giao thông có liên quan chặt chẽ đến việc sử dụng không gian công cộng, sao cho phù hợp với đặc trưng hoạt động, nhất là về thương mại của Khu phố cổ Hà Nội.

The competition will have the following schedule:

a) Publication of competition May 20, 2013
b) Delivery of the projects 13 September 2013
c) Awards Ceremony Hanoi October 10, 2013.

Lịch trình của cuộc thi như sau:
a) Công bố cuộc thi: ngày 20 tháng 5 năm 2013
b) Nộp bài thi: ngày 13 tháng 9 năm 2013
c) Lễ trao giải tại Hà Nội: ngày 8 tháng 10 năm 2013, nhân dịp kỷ niệm Ngày giải phóng Thủ đô 10 tháng 10 năm 2013.

This date to coincide with the celebrations for the anniversary of the founding of the city. There will be cash awards and possibility of professional assignment for the design proposed.

The material required will consist of 3 drawings representing the proposals to make to enhance the area of the historical center studied by each candidate.

Objectives of the project will be the one to relate new asset that lead to improvements in environmental quality and overall fruition from the aesthetic, functional and social area, starting from the square, today simple “roundabout”, designed only for traffic, without any character and very lacking on the relationship between the lake and the old town.
