(Kienviet.net) – Viện kiến trúc Hoàng gia Anh (RIBA) vừa công bố danh sách thắng cuộc của giải thưởng RIBA 2010. Giải thưởng kiến trúc xuất sắc này được trao cho 102 tòa nhà ở Anh và châu Âu, gồm 93 tòa nhà ở Anh và 9 tòa nhà ở châu Âu. 6 trong số này được đề cử cho giải RIBA Stirling Prize.

RIBA Stirling Prize do The Architects’ Journal tài trợ. Giải này được trao cho những công trình vĩ đại nhất đói với kiến trúc Anh trong năm qua. Giải sẽ được công bố tại Roundhouse, London vào thứ 7 ngày 2/10/2010.
Các công trình được trao giải khá đa dạng, gồm phòng tắm nhỏ, hình tròn dành cho các tài xế xe buýt tại London, bảo tàng nghệ thuật ở Berlon, thậm chí là cả trạm biến áp năng lượng dành cho thế vận hội thể thao Olympics 2012…Điểm mới của giải thưởng năm nay là các công trình công cộng cũng có mặt trong hạng mục giải, trong đó có các gian hàng và các đài kỷ niệm.
Một số kiến trúc sư chiến thắng nhiều giải. Đội kiến trúc sư Rick Mather giành 4 giải RIBA, trở thành đội giành được nhiều giải nhất năm 2010. Bên cạnh đó, nhiều kiến trúc sư nổi tiếng của Anh cũng được trao giải vì những công trình của họ bên ngoài nước Anh như Zaha Hadid, David Chipperfield, Rogers Stirk Harbour + Partners,…
Ruth Reed, chủ tịch RIBA nói về các giải thưởng RIBA 2010:
“Giải thưởng RIBA không chỉ phản ánh tình hình kiến trúc ở nước Anh mà còn phản ánh sự phát triển kinh tế ở Anh. Trong bối cảnh khủng khoảng nặng nề nhất trong lịch sử 45 năm của giải thưởng RIBA, các giải thưởng năm nay chứng minh một điều rằng mặc dù đây là khoảnh khắc khó khăn cho các kiến trúc sư, nhưng họ vẫn rất tuyệt vời khi xây dựng các công trình vĩ đại trên toàn nước Anh và ở nước ngoài.
Giải thưởng RIBA luôn luôn đem lại cơ hội cho các dự án, thậm chí là dự án nhỏ nhưng rất có giá trị. Và năm nay cũng không có ngoại lệ. Không còn là giải thưởng chỉ dành cho các công trình quy mô lớn, RIBA cũng trao giải cho các toàn nhà có giá trị sống đích thực dành cho mọi người. Tôi nóng lòng muốn viết danh sách các công trình thắng cuộc cho giải RIBA Stirling Prize.”
